It seems that not all bad ideas come from WWE writers. Sometimes they come from the wrestlers themselves. Big E has recently revealed to the world that WWE writers laughed when Xavier Woods wanted The New Day to debut as a nation of modern domination. Vince McMahon continues to bury talent.
The Nation of Domination is considered one of the most influential factions in WWE history for taking a step forward in WWE programming. The nation was represented by a total of 12 superstars between 1996 and 1998, mostly made up of African-American superstars. Farooq, D’Lo Brown, The Godfather, Mark Henry, The Rock and Owen Hart were among the most successful members of the faction. Owen, of course, is regarded as “The Black Deer” Owen Hart.
Big E recently spoke with WhatCulture’s Adam Wilbourn, and Big E spoke about the first time The New Day (himself, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods) came together to create magic. Big E also spoke about how the WWE creative team reacted when Woods said he wanted the three men to form a revamped version of The Nation of Domination. Big E may lose its title.
Big E said that Vince McMahon and the creative rejected him: “I would say that The Nation of Domination [if Big E had to join another faction], which is a bit of what we wanted to be initially. That’s essentially what The New Day was. That was Woods’ first release that he was essentially doing a Nation of Domination 2.0 and the writers just laughed at him. So when we go out, the first time you see us in Miami in 2014 that summer, and he [Xavier Woods] He’s wearing that red and white suit, that’s what we wanted the faction to be. “
In fact, WWE planned to revive The Nation of Domination in 2020, with Ron Simmons (aka Farooq, the original leader of the group) set to take part. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, Farooq was supposed to initiate the reset of The Nation during an episode of RAW on July 20, 2020.
Vince McMahon fires two big names in WWE
WWE fired Director of Talent Relations Nicole Zeoli, who worked for the company for 11 years and took over as Director in 2018. A WWE diva leaked a “banned” photo of Vince McMahon.
John Cone has been fired as Senior Manager of the Talent Relations Department. He still has a job as a referee. PWInsider broke the news of these layoffs.
Vince McMahon praised WWE management during today’s earnings call: “Like any other form of entertainment or sport, we came out of COVID. At first, we were in survival mode, but we found a new life. Sure, we saw this as an opportunity to rethink the way we do business and open what I call a WWE treasure chest. The only way to do that is by having the best management team in WWE history.
We have that team. A team that is innovative, a team that drives revenue, and has reorganized our company in a more efficient way to take advantage of new revenue streams, new online platforms, new consumer products, new content creation, and new opportunities to expand our portfolio. of media rights worldwide. I’m always excited about our business and I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited than I am right now. “
Stephanie McMahon posts a photo of a ’embarrassing’ diva
Stephanie McMahon apologized to Mickie James, retweeting her embarrassing photo showing the garbage bag sent to her after her firing. Triple H fired an employee for the photo.
Stephanie said: “@MickieJames, I am ashamed that you or anyone else is treated this way. I apologize personally and on behalf of @WWE. The person in charge is no longer in our company ”.
WWE also fired Samoa Joe last week. Sean Waltman said on his Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast: “Yes, [Samoa Joe] sure, ”Waltman said. “People are discouraged. I also. The thing is, this is Samoa Joe man. He’s a leading player anywhere as far as I’m concerned, and it opens up a lot of possibilities. I can’t wait to see where it ends. “
“I could see ROH. It has a history with ROH and even Impact. I guess it depends on what they offer. Here’s the thing, they released a dozen people or whatever at once. Some people might think, “Well, you put excess talent on the market,” but there is no excess talent like Samoa Joe on the market, no matter how many people are released. “
WWE also fired Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Bo Dallas, Mojo Rawley, and many others last week.
