Seth Rollins publishes tribute in honor of Jon Huber

Add Seth Rollins to the growing list of professional wrestling personalities who have shared personal stories and memories of the late Jon Huber this week.

As noted, Huber, formerly known as Luke Harper in WWE and Mr. Brodie Lee in AEW, passed away over the weekend.

Rollins posted the following lengthy statement via his official Instagram page commenting on Huber’s passing on Monday afternoon.

I was hoping that at some point the perfect words would come to me, but the truth is that I still cannot accept the reality in this case. My heart is so broken. He loved Brodie. It really was all the great things everyone has already said it is and if you ever knew it, you would have known it in an instant.

He was a loving husband. A devoted father. He was a kind soul. A loyal friend. He was a grinder too, man. Passionate and thoughtful. Smart and fun. Dude had a contagious laugh and was a shitty shaker. He was a person I looked forward to … and damn, it kills me to know that I’ll never be able to do that again …

Back at FCW, I responded HARD to Brodie being hired at WWE based on meeting him and working with him briefly at ROH. We spent a bit of time together in Tampa, but The Shield’s debut took me on tour shortly after he moved out. Luckily the Wyatt family followed us out of the development shortly after and let me tell you it was a real pleasure to have you on the road. That’s where we really met.

I will always love him for pushing Bray and Braun to see how far their ridiculous self-improvement would take. It was often sold on the monitors because we were all waiting to see how many of Dana’s poses would slip through during her match. He even came to me to try CrossFit when he wanted to bend over. I think he hated burpees more than I did. Interestingly, he and I almost got to the backstage hits during the Shield / Wyatt series. We were both so excited trying to do the right thing for our respective squads that we tended to be a bit sarcastic with each other. It was the best. He was the best.

And I’m smiling so big as I remember all these good things, fighting back the tears. I thought writing this would be just crying and sadness, but it’s impossible to remember Brodie without laughing. It was just a good energy light.

I looked at Brodie. Not just because he was a physical mountain of a man, but because of what he was like as a father and husband. And now that I venture into those realms, I really hope I can take a little bit of him with me. I hope I can be to my family even a little bit of what he was to his.

I love you, great man. I miss you already.

Goldberg’s last appearance on WWE Raw revealed

Published

on

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg returned to WWE in 2016 after a more than a decade hiatus from the company. He would then defeat Brock Lesnar in a squash match at Survivor 2016 and then win the Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in 2017. He defended his title against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 in one of the show’s main events. As stated in his contract, Vince McMahon can only get him to compete in one more match this year, so it has to mean something. Goldberg also admitted teasing Ric Flair for being too old to be in the ring in the past. Goldberg also sent a bold message to a WWE Superstar a couple of months ago.

Goldberg finally returned to WWE television when he appeared on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW after Bobby Lashley successfully defended his WWE Championship against a returning Keith Lee. Subsequently, Goldberg appeared and challenged Bobby Lashley for a WWE Championship match declaring that he is next.

WWE is also announcing Goldberg for two more appearances on Monday Night RAW. He is scheduled to appear on the August 2 and 16 episode of the show. Raw on August 16 could be Goldberg’s last under his 3-year contract with WWE, signed in the spring of 2019 for 2 matches per year.
