Carmella recently spoke on Bella’s Podcast, where she revealed that she suffered an injury that stopped all her momentum.
For people who do not work here, it is difficult to explain. Because, of course, I am grateful to have a job. I am grateful to work for this amazing company. Last summer, I was off television for four or five months, playing with my thumbs. There was no rhyme or reason why she was home. They just told me we’re going to wait to bring you back and make a different story. Then, I renewed my character a bit. Which is great, it’s nice to get a fresh coat of paint.
“Then I came back and had this amazing story with Sasha. I felt that I gave myself completely. We had great games, great promotions. I felt very happy. I felt like I proved myself and then it’s like nothing. So there really is no reason. Well, I wasn’t actually cleared for a while after our Royal Rumble match. I dove out of the ring … and just put my back up. So it wasn’t cleared for physicality but it could still be in a story but it just didn’t work out and I just sat there after having what I thought was a great fight. You know, you just have to wait your turn. The world keeps spinning. It sucks because then you sit here and ask, ‘Well, didn’t I do as well as I could have? What can I change? What can I do better?’ You are doing “.
